Empowering yourself through connecting with your heart

With a life mostly centred in your house now with all family members, it can be quite challenging to stay in your own energy space and provide for your own needs. As a carer you are focused on making sure the other family members have what they need to be happy, but you might push yourself to a lower priority. It must be the opposite actually and I’ll explain why.

If you prioritise others constantly, you’ll start to feel drained, frustrated and irritated or maybe even angry, you’ll start to pull back in your shell of dissatisfaction and anxiety and depression will rise. Your mindset will change into negative thoughts or a grudge towards other or society in general.

All this points out the necessity of recharging your energy daily, connecting with your own needs to stay happy inside and doing things that bring you joy so your creativity can keep flowing.

Find out what your own needs are

The best way to find out what your own needs are, is to daily check in with your heart where you ask your mind to step aside so you can receive the message from your heart. It doesn’t matter if you check in with your heart during meditation, a walk in nature, while taking a shower, or when you lie down in bed in the evening, as long as you do it.

Ask your heart what it needs this day and how you can provide it. Be still and wait how the answer comes in the form of a feeling, a thought, or an image. Trust the first thing that pops up is the answer. Then take actions to provide what your heart needs. It’ll make you feel empowered and contribute to stay better in the flow. Your heart knows what you need. It always tells you the truth and nobody can take that away from you. Ever.
